The Problem With Most Stag Activities
Go-karts. Paintball. Escape rooms. Clay pigeon shooting. They're fine. They're also exactly what every other stag do in the country is doing.
The organiser needs three things: something everyone can do regardless of ability, something that feels like an event, and something where the bar is close enough that nobody has to stop drinking. Most activities fail on at least one of those.
Why Indoor Golf Works
At 1IRON, a group of 8–24 people gets their own bays, a competition format, a live leaderboard, and a fully licensed bar within arm's reach. The simulators are beginner-friendly — nobody needs to know how to play golf. The games are competitive enough that everyone gets involved. And the venue has pool, shuffleboard, interactive darts, and pizza for when you want a break from swinging.
What a typical stag session looks like:
- 2–3 hours of bay time
- Nearest the pin, longest drive, team competition — we set it all up
- Live leaderboard so everyone can see who's winning (and losing)
- Full bar service to the bays
- Pizza and food for the group
- Pool, shuffleboard, and darts between rounds
The best man doesn't have to organise the format. We do that. He sends one message to the group with the date, the address, and the price. Done.
The Numbers
Adult Party Package: £35 per person. 2 hours. Minimum 8 people. Pizza and a drink included per person.
Society Package: £35 per person for 3 hours (competition format, 4 per bay). Add food for £45pp.
For a group of 16, that's 4 bays for 3 hours with a full competition format. Under £600 for the whole thing including food. Try getting 16 people through go-karting for that.
It's Not Just for Golfers
This is the part people don't expect. The lad who says "I've never played golf" will be the one smashing cannonballs at bowling pins in Cannon Bowl, or launching shots across neon crazy-golf fairways in Streets of Neon. TrackMan games are designed for exactly this — competition without golf knowledge.
The golfers in the group get to show off their handicap. The non-golfers get to beat them at Scrapyard. Everyone wins.
What About the Rest of the Day?
1IRON is open from 9:30am, so you can start early and still have the evening free. The venue is in Stacey Bushes — 10 minutes from Central Milton Keynes. Restaurants, bars, and the rest of the night are a short taxi away.
Or just stay. The bar's open until 10:30pm. Pool tables, shuffleboard, live sport on screens. Some groups book a bay session and end up staying all evening.
How to Book
The organiser fills in one form. We come back with availability, format options, and a price. No back-and-forth, no complicated packages.
